Materials purchased are for cooperative learning teams, to build positive social skills while increasing language development. Working with peers will increase vocabulary; students' letter sounds will become more refined and they will learn to resolve problems in a kind and respectful manner. Student teams will work together using items such as giant magnetic letters, Snap-n-Learn Alphabet Alligators, letter cubes to build words. They will string letter beads to spell their names, put letters in alphabetical order, match upper case with lower case letters, & practice letter sounds. Other teams will create various habitats for zoo, farm, ocean, or jungle animals using plastic replicas. The teams will use their imaginations to create cities, homes, cars, people, trees, flowers, and animals with magnetic building sets, LEGO bricks, Brain Flakes, or Play-Doh sets.
