Seventh graders are an emotional, social bunch who would rather be anywhere but school. Many of our kids have not had travel, museum, camp, etc type experience to build from. Having hands-on learning in science is the best way to engage them and provide experiences for them to capture content and make connections! These supplies would be for many things, but some specific examples are mini scale animal bridges use clay and popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners and tissue paper are part of cell structure and flower models, writing on lab tables with chalk marker (labeling parts of the flower and cell), and small group work around the room using clipboards, designing said models. Students also enjoy a treat for working diligently and are willing to clean up after themselves to keep each other healthy!
