As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students encounter several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, they have an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude about school. More than half of my class are ELL students and most of our lessons would be more meaningful with the use of technology. Not only will technology help those struggling with language, but will help to close the achievement gap for all others in class. Due to the lack of technology at home, all my students thrive with the use of technology in our classroom.
