We will use our storytelling kits thought the duration of the school year during our circle times to help important texts come to life. Some of these pieces will help us to retell stories and their sequences. Smaller felt figures will be used to help illustrate daily poetry to aide my students in becoming familiar with alphabet letters and recognizing beginning sight words. These materials will enable my PreK students to easily retell familiar stories from our circle time lessons on their own. After initial instruction, these pieces will go to new homes in centers for daily use from my students. Storytelling kits will increase engagement in our library center, while alphabet games will create excitement during small groups where our focus is letters and sounds. Working together with these pieces will help increase communication skills and team work along with problem solving skills.
