Not all students learn by sitting in a hard chair at a table or desk. Many students, and especially those with special needs, have needs that go beyond the traditional classroom setting. These needs are often physical.
By donating to my project, my students will have the opportunity to sit in something other than a chair in order to maximize their learning. Some students wiggle, some need to bounce and others learn best sitting on the floor. By increasing the amount of flexible seating options in my classroom, I will be better able to meet the unique needs of my students.
I am requesting a variety of seating options including a classroom rug, yoga balls, stools, cushions and computer stands.
