We are the early education program for a Vermont public school district. We have five district preschools and our teachers also provide early education support services for children in other community preschool programs. Our students are between three and five years old and include typically developing kids as well as children with special needs. We partner with the Head Start program and at least 50% of our students come from families living in poverty. We are also a refugee resettlement community and work with children that have come from all over the globe. Many of our students are New Americans from Congo, Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria, Nepal, Burma, Bhutan, Vietnam, Bosnia, Russia, Mexico and China. We also teach children whose families have been in Vermont for generations, or transplanted from other states. The faces of our students are the faces of the world! We are so proud of all of them.
