My school is a Title I school located in a low socioeconomic area. The majority of my students receive breakfast in the classroom and free or reduced lunch. My students are full of energy and excited to learn. I am always encouraged by my students; they do not let their hardships affect their learning. Our classroom is a diverse and wonderful place! The majority of my second graders will begin the year below the fall reading benchmarks. Our school is lucky to have this cultural and economic diversity, but it also means that we need a lot of extra literacy support to make sure our students are building a strong foundation for their future success.
