This project stems from some friendly competitions on Friday afternoons to build community within our team of 50 students. It started as a teacher-driven and teacher-designed game/competition with a quirky trophy that represented the game. As the weeks have gone on, the students have been intrigued weekly by what the teachers have in store for them. That curiosity has turned to creativity! The realization that this should be student-driven was soon evident!!
Though the 3D printer will be utilized with students designing both the game and the coordinating trophy, we will tie in other STEM or Language Arts projects where creating a 3D model would enhance their learning outcomes.
