My school is about 95% Hispanic and 87% economically disadvantaged. My school is an elementary pk-5th with close to 900 students. My students are considered at-risk. I have about 20 bilingual Kindergarten students. At the beginning of the year, about half of my students have had no official schooling, about a third of them do not know how to hold a pencil. My goal is for all of my students to be reading at the end of the year.
