This upcoming year, I will be teaching math and science for 2nd grade. The group coming to us this year is very challenging, and many of the students are not meeting academic benchmarks. I want to close that gap this year! Especially with this group, I feel that integration of technology will be a major motivator for students.
When I have brought the students to the computer lab in the past, the participation and student involvement in learning sky rocketed. Students were excited to show me what they could produce on the computer or show me what they were reading about online. But there is only one computer lab for the whole school and the computers there are dinosaurs. The majority of my students do not have access to computers or Internet at home.
