My students need a varied selection of books to pique their interest and provide for their diverse interests . New, exciting books will bring excitement for reading and an expansion to their world. These books will provide my students with avenues to explore diverse characters and new settings. Reading is as vital a component to our prekindergarten classroom as water is to a plant. The students listen to books as well as pick their own books to browse many times a day. These books will provide vocabulary and introduce the story elements that young readers need to be successful readers.
