These novels will allow students to engage in book club experiences with relatable, current topics. Student engagement in literary experiences will allow them to grow across subject areas. They will utilize interpersonal skills through learning activities that will benefit them throughout life. Each student having their own individual book allows students to be engaged both in & outside of school.
Students will connect traditional areas of literacy including: theme, key ideas & details, craft & structure, the integration of knowledge & ideas, etc. while simultaneously developing communication skills. When this is an ongoing activity, engaging in these task will be an effortless occurrence.
