Studies have shown that students who are allowed to move around during learning, as well as being given choice, maximizes their capacity to learn. By using varied seating options such as yoga stability balls, padded milk crates or easy-to-move plastic stools, students are given choice and options for their physical learning space.
Choice and options: these are two concepts that benefit all learners.
The other items, such as the art caddies, headphones. and a wireless keyboard, allow for creating spaces that are less anchored to a student's desk, or for me, the teacher, to be less anchored to my computer - I can roam the room with my wireless keyboard!!
