I teach 1st graders in a rural community in north Mississippi. The community is very proud and supportive of our school; however, funds are very limited when it comes to purchasing new classroom resources. The majority of my students have very little background knowledge of many nonfiction topics. With the right resources, I will be able to increase their background knowledge of many different topics.
