At over 50% poverty rate, our school is demographically the neediest in our district. A full 85% of the students in my class are learning English as their second language. Despite their challenges, my students come to school each day on time and are eager to learn. They work incredibly hard on their reading, math, and writing.
We are living in a world where there is an abundance of new technology programs and resources that would greatly impact the lives of my students. However, when we do not have the means to provide this technology to our students, it is of little use. Technology opens up a whole new world of possibilities. With iPads, my students would have the world at their fingertips and would be able to learn so much in an extremely fun and engaging way.
