My students are an incredible group of enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and bright first graders. The demographic makeup of my classroom is 25% African American and 75% Hispanic, English Language Learners. Additionally, 100% of my students qualify for Free and Reduced price lunch. Stemming from a lack of support at home and a lack of self confidence, many of my students already believe that they cannot accomplish much academically - especially with regards to literacy. Every day I push my students to challenge themselves and make accomplishments as students, citizens within our community, and lifelong learners.
