Think back to any upper-level science class you've ever been a part of. Where do you see yourself sitting? If you're like me, you see yourself sitting at a table! From the seventh grade through college, science classes are collaborative and laboratory-based.
In my 7/8 science class, students are sitting at enormous desks. The size of the desks make it difficult to collaborate with others effectively. Students also have to be in large (8 student) groups to make the best use of limited classroom space.
We are requesting round tables for cooperative learning. These tables will take up less space than the desks we are currently using, while still allowing students to collaborate. Ideally, I'd have tables that fit four students each. Can you help me achieve this goal?
