My school is an intermediate school, providing education for over 800 seventh and eighth graders. Our school services five out of the seven feeder elementary schools in our community. Our school is a Title 1 school, which means that we have a high percentage of students that come from low income/disadvantaged families. We are fortunate that our school values and supports arts education. About a one-third of 7th graders are enrolled in my class every year. In art, students learn to develop their creative problem solving and fine motor skills. Many students that come through my class leave a greater appreciation for art. We have so many talented students at our school. I would love to provide our students with a greater learning experience in art.
