I teach in a low income neighborhood full of students eager to learn and also ready to teach others about their diverse cultures. My classroom is a place where they feel safe to grow and reflect on their everyday experiences. Students are independent and self directed to create and carry on hands on activities which wake up their inquiry to discover and wonder about old and new concepts. We work as a team and value each others knowledge and opinions. If I could choose only one word to describe my students it would definitely be stars because they help each other succeed through encouragement and guidance.
