Our high school is a Title 1 school that has a long, rich tradition of choral excellence. That includes being successful in choir competitions, participating in many community events, and even singing for President Bill Clinton. Unfortunately, over time, it has lost it's prestige. The program lost it's director last year which, combined with outdated and run down equipment, has caused student morale and efficacy to go down. Most of our students come from lower income, single parent homes. For many of them, our choir class is what they look forward to because of the safe environment that we have created here. Even through their circumstances, they come everyday to learn and sing to the best of their abilities.
