The best way to increase reading ability is to read more! In my classroom, I dedicate time for reading and make it a priority. Seeing new books in our classroom library motivates my students to read. When they see me making reading a priority, it moves up on their list of priorities too. Each time I add a book to my library, I introduce the book and make suggestions as to who may be interested. The best feeling ever is handing a book to a student and watching their eyes light up because they can’t wait to read it. These books will provide a much needed update to our classroom library and provide new, engaging, and age-appropriate books to my students. Please help me inspire a lifelong love of reading!
