My students need opportunities to discuss and write about their reading.
Book clubs with various books at several levels allow students to discuss what they have read and explore different levels of text comprehension as they dig deeper and deeper into their books. Book clubs encourage students to read, think, discuss, and write, pushing them in various aspects of academics.
The books in this project will provide students with the daily opportunity to read at their independent reading level and encourage them to discuss and write about their reading. Each student will be matched with a book at his/her own level, engaging them in genuine and enjoyable reading.
