My students' parents are chiefly employed in the meat packing or farming industry. Few of my students have parents that went to any kind of college, and many speak English as a second language. We also have a large population of refugees at our school. With hundreds of students fleeing war torn Sudan or Burma, I don't have the parental financial support to purchase sets of books.
