As a newer teacher in Colorado, I have found that my students now love to read as much as my students in Detroit. My school is an Internationl Studies school in a low poverty area. Our students have wonderul international oppurtunites throughout the year including taking daily Spanish or Mandrain Chinese language classes. This is a Title I school with more than 90% of students with free or reduced lunch. I teach 4th grade content to 3rd and 4th grade aged students. Majority of my students are Hispanic and come from low-income families. My students love to read and go on adventures and learn through reading.
