This is my first year to teach at an elementary school. I'll be continuing to teach reading and writing (which I love) and beginning to teach social studies for the first time (which I'm really excited about).
Our school is a Title I school where most students are below the poverty line and receive free or reduced price lunch. My students come from various backgrounds.
As a school, we focus on developing students who are well-rounded, successful, and show the characteristics of our houses- Grit, Gratitude, Integrity, Optimism, Service, and Courage. We strive to teach them how to take care of themselves physically and emotionally, to be responsible and respectful, and to "SOAR" in all things.
