I teach science to 140 incredibly hard-working 7th grade scholars! My young scientists come from a diverse, but high-needs community in New York City. A large majority of our school population are English language learners and fall well below the poverty line. Despite the daily challenges our students face, they always come to school excited to learn and ready to work hard!
Many of my students struggle to express themselves with words. The use of technology in the classroom has helped to give all of my students a voice and enables me to personalize instruction, make scientific content engaging and relevant, and provide students with skills that will allow the to achieve success in high school and beyond.
