The use of items that regulate the sensory and vestibular systems helps preschoolers with disabilities to have more ability to sit and attend to instructions.
I would like to purchase sensory items to help with self regulation, weighted lap buddies, and sit and spins.
I would also like to give each child a CD/cassette player. I have been teaching for 30 years and have a large collection of books and tape and would like to give them the opportunity to access these materials at home. Few families own any of these items.
By having theses items, students will be able to focus on adult instructions and peer interactions and increase their learning!
Dealing with the new reality of COVID-19 has affected all facets of life particularly children's education. This is compounded even further for students with particular special needs. So for them to be able to have all these items at home would be greatly beneficial to the quality of their remote learning experience.
