As I look around my room, each student brings something different to the classroom. Different experiences, socioeconomic levels, abilities, and personalities. It is what I call the "real world" and is one of the many reasons why I love working at my school. Every morning we are united and pledge to be, "Proud professional students who are noble in thought, word, and deed." Differences are forgotten or embraced as we build our community. My students are excited to learn about new authors, electrical circuits, California missions, and long division. (Maybe the enthusiasm is less for long division!)
Technology plays a large role in our world. Unfortunately, it is an area we are lacking in at our school. Some of my students only have access to technology at school, which means they have had very little experience. As a teacher I want to be able to provide more opportunities for my students to use technology in their learning, as well as providing them important life skills.
