My kiddos are a mix of low and middle income students striving to do their best to master the Common Core math standards. Much of 4th and 5th grade is focused on fractions. The use of Legos in the classroom allows me to "show" the kids fractions, incorporating parts of a whole, addition, subtraction, multiplication of fractions ALL while they think they are "playing with Legos"! These FUN activities are the type of activities that stick in their head for a lifetime. Not only do they LOVE math, they begin to understand that they ALL can UNDERSTAND math!!

About my class
