Scientific calculators are a necessity in my rigorous Algebra 1 and Geometry classrooms. My students are brilliant and amazing and often come from homes where there aren't any extra funds to pay for scientific calculators. I want the lessons to be as challenging as I can make them but without calculators, I definitely lose a level of rigor. They will use the calculators for simple computations as well as more complex math functions - exponential, trigonometric. A classroom set of scientific calculators will level the playing field for all my students and allow me to direct students to a deeper more conceptual understanding of the mathematics.​
