My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some students come from advantaged lives that are filled with technology and real world learning via traveling. However, others do not. Their interaction with technology takes place at school and their traveling consists of the field trips we go on. Because our school does not have extra money from things like Title I funding, our budget is tight and goes towards basic supplies first and technology last. We also have to rely on our PTA to help fund events like field trips or guest speakers for our students. In my room, I try to make lessons engaging for students to keep pace with their fast moving lives that has become their generation. Without much technology, this can be tough at times. I would like to receive these iPads to bring even more technology to my students to help prepare them for their futures.
