My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our school has a high number of free or reduced lunch, which means we have a lot of poverty in our area. Some of my students are at school from 7 AM to 7 PM and eat almost all of their meals with us. My students overcome many challenges just to be at school and know that it is a safe haven. We aren't a large school or a large community but we are very caring. This year I have 17 students who come from many different backgrounds and ability levels to form an incredible group. We appreciate one another's strengths and help bolster those in need.
