My school is a low income high challenge school. Our principal and faculty are working very hard to improve our performance on the ratings that are used to evaluate our schools. We believe that this will help them raise their self esteem and pride in achievement. We hope this will encourage them to stay in school. We are using the framework this year of the Daily 5. The listening activity is an important component of the framework. More importantly, this equipment will allow the students to develop a positive relationship with reading. Many of them do not have access to books at home. They also may not have anyone with the time , ability or interest in reading to them. This would teach them how to enjoy reading without needing to invest in books or travel to the library during non-school times of the year
