Who doesn't need the ability to be flexible? The truth is we all do! Flexible seating like bean bags and swivel stools is one way to help students get choice and comfort in their learning environment. After reading the article, Flexible Classroom, about flexible seating, I'm ready to implement it! As the article says, "Optimizing all of these physical characteristics in primary classrooms improved academic performance in reading, writing, and mathematics by 16 percent." My goal is to build a sense of community, collaboration, and fun for my 2nd-grade students. Along the way, students will be engaged and eager to as they become a community of learners.
