I currently am the Resource Specialist Teacher at a K-6 Title I school. Our population is 98% English learners and low income. My students are eager to learn and their parents are extremely supportive. Many of my students are first generation Americans. Their parents want them to be more successful than the generation before them.
My beautiful students come to me with a wide array of life challenges. Many students live in homes with multiple families and we have a high rate of foster and homeless youth. I also serve students with disabilities such as autism, specific learning disabilities, and ADD/ADHD.
