I teach at a school that most of the community thinks is the "rich" school. This is not the case anymore. With the changes in our economy many of our families don't have the "disposable" income they once had and are not able to help the teachers like they have in the past.
My school district has also been taken over by the state because of fraud at the administration levels and now the teachers are paying the price; no raise in 3 years, higher insurance, and more students per class.
Despite all of the hardships my school district faces I still have the most AMAZING students! My 2nd graders have a LOVE of learning and enjoy hands on activities more than just the paper pencil work.
I need help to provide my students with "extras" that help make learning fun!
