Because I am the teacher of the gifted / high achieving students in my school, I have the challenge of keeping our "higher" students motivated and from losing interest. Sometimes our gifted kids' needs are forgotten because everyone assumes they don't need anything extra to learn.
I want to provide stimulating activities for my class and my after school science club. Providing my class with a couple of these award winning "marble run" type kits, will keep the kids thinking and excited! I love bringing in new things to my students because they get so excited. Each Friday, we have our weekly tests and then I give them a chunk of time where they can interact with STEM, open-ended activities, things they want to find answers for, etc. I also have my after school science club who enjoys all the STEM games that I can get. When I saw this new Gravitrax - I just got so excited knowing my students would love this! I immediately thought - "How can I get these for my classroom?" (this is how I am spending my Saturday night).. No, we don't need these to learn 4th grade material, but I really want them for my kids. These are the things that make them want to come to school and keep them excited about it.
