My students are funny, eager, and always full of energy but that could all be because they all love our P.E. class or they are ages 5-11. I love the enthusiasm that this age group brings to the table for which there is never a dull moment. Our school is a lower income public school located in Dallas, Texas, with a student population of about 750 students. We have something special to our school that many across the states don't, which is an after school athletics program. This program caters to two basketball teams and two soccer teams per school year. I am proud to be a part of these programs and seeing some of there many benefits first hand. What I'm referring to is the positive influence upon a students behavior, academics, and social interactions among each other. I've seen failing students become B students just by having a support group and being a part of something.
