After 12 years of being away, I came back to my hometown to teach 2nd grade. It is such an honor and privilege to teach in the same school that I went to as a child. Our school is in a small town with a population of approximately 900 people. We have approximately 75% of our families on free and reduced school lunch contracts. Most of my students come from one parent households that are facing financial struggles. My students are some of the most compassionate and hard working kids that I've ever met. They are always out to impress and make me proud! I love teaching and exposing them to everything that I can! They are like sponges!
