Children desire lots movement throughout their school day in order to enhance their learning to its potential. The alternative seating options such as recliners, Bilibos, and bean bags will be stored in different locations in the classroom where students will be able to choose their desired seating option to work on tasks throughout the day, rather than using a traditional assigned desk for the entire day.
Students choosing from a variety of alternate seating allows for ownership, comfort, and options allows for achievement goals to be reached while meeting individual needs. Along with the opportunity for movement, alternative seating enhances the sense of community among all members of the class.
