Ravenswood Elementary is home to some of the most unique, creative and hard-working students in the city of Chicago! My students have varying interests and experiences, and all bring to the dance studio a desire to explore movement, learn something new and create art! I am so fortunate to be able to teach dance within Chicago Public Schools, as everyday I see dance enhance my students' lives. Each class, I see my students become more confident as they become problem-solvers, critical thinkers and story tellers through movement. Ranging in grades from Pre-K through 8th grade, I teach 500 students a week for 60 minute dance classes. During these classes students create movement, perform dances, respond to and reflect on their dance work, and make connections between dance and the world around them. We hope to continue to build a supportive, fun and creative dance environment at Ravenswood.
