Imagine walking into a classroom where 32 students are in small groups gathered around a table observing diagrams of life cycles of butterflies. Or where those same 32 students are gathered at tables sharing their crayons and glue sticks with each other in creating the next masterpiece! My English language learner's will be practicing their English, conversing with one another over what they are learning in school.
Tables instead of desks, encourages student's to share and collaborate with one another. Tables will help the student's stay more organized and have more space to explore around their classroom. I am planning on raising and lowering some tables to incorporate flexible seating.
