There are 29 amazing students in the Special Education Resource Program, in grades kindergarten to fifth-grade who need supports, specialized instruction, and accommodations, to their general education curriculum, in order to work toward success. The majority of our students, in this program, have writing, emotional, communication, reading, and/or math learning goals. Their special needs make it more challenging for them to perform academically, and they need every possible advantage in order to work toward meeting their goals outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). We are at a large school in the Bay Area that is striving to meet the needs of all learners, especially our students in Special Education. All of my students are below grade level expectations in some academic area(s), and the access and daily use of technology is going to be crucial as a necessary "crutch" for these children who struggle.
