Currently on my roll for September I have 30 students. These children are from a diverse, urban area and the majority of them speak a different language at home. In fact, at my school there are over 40 languages that are being spoken at home. My students are so diverse in their abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. My students come from all over the world. Many are from Haiti, Palestine, Cambodia, China, Jamaica, and so on. My school is a Title One school that serves over 1,200 children and sadly there is not enough technology to serve the needs of all these children. Our school district is underfunded from severe budget cuts. This projector is just the thing I need to enable them to stay competitive in today's society. Long gone are the days of overhead projectors and transparencies to convey an idea or concept to students, but sadly in my class that is all I have to work with. My second grade classroom is housed in a "temporary" trailer that is over 25 years old.
