My students are from East LA. They are 5th and 6th grade boys and girls, climbing the mountain to college. They are all at different levels in their learning. But that has not, and will not stop the teachers I work with from helping our students grow. My colleagues and I are able to differentiated instruction, thought the blended learning model. Through the use of technology, students are able to access the knowledge at their level. This model allows teachers to see real time data allowing instruction to be individualized, and keep the students on the growth path, to close gaps.
Everyday I work with my students I see them growing and becoming the young men and women that will one day make an impact on their community, our nation, and the world.
I do not want zip code to ever determine their lives plans. I want to provided them with opportunities to learn in innovative ways, and to show them the power they have to determine their future and destiny.
