I teach in a special day class with children who have mild to moderate disabilities. Their abilities range from specific learning disability, speech and language impairments, autism, and ADD/ADHD. I have a large range of students in my class, ranging from first grade to third grade. Within that grade range come many different abilities. Some students are emergent readers while others are reading at grade level. However, a majority of my students struggle greatly with reading which makes it difficult for them to be successful in all subject areas. My students are loving, hardworking individuals and I know they would love a listening center as an addition to their classroom.
