My students are sixth grade elementary students at an inner city school. They are eager to learn but many come from homes that lack resources to allow them to be creative. Believe it or not, some come to school without a notebook or pencil to their name. They rely on me to supply these materials. For some students, school is their only opportunity to make use of art supplies. In the past, I have had students ask to take paper home and they've returned with beautiful pictures they are eager to give me.
