Our 8th grade class focuses on careers for independent projects. Several of my students chose architecture or a technology based career. We currently use the TI NSpire graphing calculator to represent graphically algebraic concepts and tabular data. Students are more on task when using multiple modes of learning. In addition, I use the Apple TV to remotely broadcast from my own personal device. By using iPads, they can mainupulate the data form more precise calculations of equations and manipulate the graphical information when constructing models of the data. A class set of iPads would be an amazing addition to the math curriculum and give my students the opportunity to collaborate with fellow classmates and enhance the learning experience.
