These students will benefit academically from having laptops in college. Students will be able to write papers, take notes, and do research where ever they are on campus or at their home. This will enable students to be more organized and efficient.
Many of the students do not have access to computers at their homes due to financial hardships. Having a laptop would mean that students would have the opportunity to complete assignments at home if they attend a community college or if they are home from a university for the weekend. Also, even though some students may not have internet service at home they will be able to work on and save their documents to upload later. This will be helpful, as most college courses have essays or papers required.
