I work as a PE teacher in the south Bronx, district seven. This is the poorest district in the country and over 40% of our students come from shelter homes. After introducing a soccer unit a few weeks ago I noticed that a lot of our students had never played soccer before. They quickly took a liking to this amazing sport. My AP wants me to start an after school soccer program. My students come from very rough homes and will surely benefit from any type of after school program, especially soccer.
